5:06 pm - SAW Megamix Part 4, the end of a chapter
|
Tracks Pat and Mick - I Haven't Stopped Dancing Yet (Extended Mix)
Big Fun - Blame It On The Boogie (Extended Mix)
Lonnie Gordon - Happenin' All Over Again (Extended Mix)
Cliff Richard - I Just Don't Have The Heart (Extended Mix)
Donna Summer - This Time I Know Its For Real (Extended Mix)
This was long overdue. This should have been posted last year and even then it was overdue. Knew that something was amiss but who would have known. Never knew that the promise to meet again can never be fulfilled. Never knew that that would be the last conversation. The new chapter that started 9 years ago ended so abruptly without warning. All I can say now is a belated goodbye ...

9:04 pm - Looking back - A remix done in year 2000 "Corrs - Breathless"
|
The Corrs - Breathless (Club Mix - Radio Edit) Remixed by DysH (also available Extended Club Mix)
This was one of the few full scale remixed songs that I did back in year 2000. Guess I had a lot more time to spare then. Used quite a bit of overlaying and new instrumentation to give it an original electronic feel. This mix used to be always on my playlist when I was still actively doing part time djing work. It was also picked up by radio back then. That was also the time when retro was still very popular, thanks to zouk mambo jumbo.
Have not done any major remix production since then, doing more of megamixes nowadays as they are much easier and faster to do. Perhaps will share the Belinda Carlisle Assumption to Heaven megamix, (also played on radio previously) in future.

1:28 pm - SAW Megamix Video Part 2
|
I decided to extend the megamix and here's part 2. Contains some songs that may not appeal to some people.
Brother Beyond - The Harder I Try (The Hardest Mix) Hazell Dean - Who's Leaving Who (Bob's Tambourine Megamix) Dead Or Alive - You Spin Me Round (Murder Mix) Divine - You Think You're A Man (12" Mix) Sabrina - All Of Me (PWL Mix)
Wanted very much to put Sabrina "Boys" instead, but "Boys" other than a PWL mix, nothing else about it is produced by SAW.

12:06 am - SAW Megamix Video Part 1
|
A Stock Aitken Waterman megamix video that I did some years back. I suddenly realised I've not had any new production for some years...almost the same number of years as when I started my current job...goodness!
Anyway, the track listing Kylie Minogue - I Should Be So Lucky (Extended Mix) Rick Astley - Together Forever (Lover's Leap Extended Remix) Bananarama - Love In First Degree (Jailers Version) Sinitta - Cross My Broken Heart (Cupid's Avenging Mix) Sonia - Never Stop Me Loving You (Extended Mix)
Part 2 coming soon...can't be help, youtube only allows a maximum of 10 minutes. This video megamix is 15 minutes.

12:52 pm - Red Flag - Russian Radio
|
I first heard this song on the radio back in 1988 on the now defunct Zoo 101.6 FM - A radio station in Batam Indonesia, that gain tremendous popularity in Singapore before its demise in the 1990s by the appearance of numerous new radio stations like the Perfect 10. Many of them adopted similar format of Zoo 101.6 FM. Unfortunately, Zoo is not forward looking enough to adapt and change to something more exciting.
This song was never played on any of the Singapore radio stations. At that time, Singapore radio stations tend to play more mainstream music and they rarely venture into anything more experimental. Even till this day, I still find that to be the case for most local radio stations. On the contrary, Malaysian radio stations are more ready to play different versions in particular rare remixed versions that local radio stations seem to have completely deleted from their archives. Those played on Dr Mix shows do not count, and they are not that great either.
Red flag released this song on their album Naive Art and the album has a remixed edition called Naive Dance. It's quite a popular trend back in the 80s and early 90s for bands to release a remix edition of their normal albums. Good remix albums. Unlike what Black Eyed Peas did with their so-called remix album, which totally cannot make it. Anyway, Russian Radio is a very popular track among fans of electronic pop music.

3:16 pm - Pure 80s The Ultimate DVD Box
|

Pure 80s - The Ultimate DVD Box, a 3 DVD box-set in a outer boxed case from Universal Music, released in USA in 2006. No way do I find this DVD box ultimate, except maybe for some tracks in DVD 1 and DVD 2. Perhaps because I'm not into headbanging anthems, I do not find DVD 3 enjoyable. Never heard of most of the tracks on DVD 3 either. Nevertheless, there are some interesting videos here. For example, Men Without Hats - Safety Dance, Bananrama - Cruel Summer,Styx - Mr Roboto, Suzanne Vega - Luka

FGTH - Relax (Appear on almost every compilation...why don't they just put the movie version) 14. A-ha - Take on me (another video that appears on almost every compilation) 15. Eighth Wonder - "Baby Baby" featuring lead singer Patsy Kensit who is more well-known as an actress. She only made 1 album with Eighth Wonder and produced hits like "I'm Not Scared", "Cross My Heart", "Baby Baby", "When the phone stops ringing", "Stay with me". Very big in Japan and Asia in the 80s.

10:13 pm - Another rare music video
|
A music video from the 90s by Adam Rickitt - "Everything My Heart Desires" He only has three hits, the others being "I Breathe Again" and "Best Thing". When he first emerge in the UK on "Coronation Street", he was heralded by some as one of the few male actors in UK with a body. The remixes for this song are fantastic. However, it would not be easy to find the CD single that contains the mixes.
